The Tula Cartridge Works is located in Russia where they’ve been making ammo since 1880. Their steel-cased ammo features a non-corrosive primer and a polymer coating to aid with function and reliability.

Tula claims that their polymer coating, unlike some other steel-cased ammo, is non-hazardous, and is a lot safer to shoot. I don’t have any way to verify this, but if you shoot in any kind of volume, that’s something you might want to consider.

The bullet features a lead core with a bimetal jacket made of zinc and steel. Some shooting ranges don’t like you to use ammo that will attract a magnet so be sure to check with your range first.

We tested the 115 grain 9mm ammo and it had great function and reliability in most of our guns. The only problem we had was with an old Smith and Wesson 39-13. And we had one failure to extract. We had the same kind of failure when using Wolf ammo in this gun. So it really just doesn’t like steel ammo period.
